I am a wife, mom, and dog mom from Nebraska (Go Huskers!). I started a little blog called Happy’s Thoughts several years ago because I wanted an outlet for my writing. Since then, I have decided to see what opportunities await if I work to grow my blog. So, I set up shannonlenz.com and here I am!
My main goal for this blog is that my writing would glorify God as I share what I am learning about Him and what He is doing in my life. I am passionate about Bible study and try to learn as much as I can from His Word. I share my words with you all hoping to be an encouragement!
Background
I have a variety of interests and have worked several different jobs. I’ve been a nursing assistant, a nanny, a shoe sales specialist at Scheels, a special education teacher, and a 4th grade teacher. I have a dual undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Mild/Moderate Disabilities K-6 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My masters degree is from Doane College in Curriculum and Instruction.
After 6 years, I left teaching to do my dream job. Be a mom. When I’m not changing diapers or chasing a toddler, I’m writing. Or reading. Usually with a cup of creamer. I mean, cup of coffee.
Before there was writing there was…Singing. My first passion. I grew up singing in church and for weddings. I tried to count the other day and I think I’ve done about 20 weddings!

While I haven’t done a wedding in a while, I still enjoy singing on the worship team at church. But hey, if you’re getting married here in Nebraska, contact me. We may be able to get me back in the game! 😉
